Account & data deletion

Last updated: 22 September 2026

This page explains how to have your Kalam1 account and personal data deleted, what we remove, what we are required to keep, and how long it takes. It applies to the Kalam1 Android app (in.kalam1.app) and to kalam1.in.

How to request deletion

In the app or on the web:open your profile menu and choose “Delete account”, or go straight to kalam1.in/me/delete. You will see exactly what is deleted and what is kept before you confirm.

By email: write to support@kalam1.in from the email address on your account, or mention the mobile number you registered with. We may ask one question to confirm it is really you — an account holds other people's bookings and money records, so we do not act on an unverified request.

What is deleted

Your name, phone number and email address; your sign-in; your notification settings and any device registered to receive push notifications; and your booking history as it identifies you.

What is retained, and why

Invoices and payment records.Indian tax law — the Income Tax Act and the GST rules — requires a seller to retain records of a sale. Those records belong to the venue's books as much as to your account, so we keep them for the statutory period. They are retained for that purpose only: never used to contact you again, never used for marketing, never sold.

Where a record must be kept but does not need to name you, we reduce it to what the law requires.

If you run a venue or academy on Kalam1

A business account is not deleted automatically, and this is deliberate. Your organisation holds other people's work: staff accounts, customers' bookings, students' records and the venue's financial history. Erasing one person cannot silently erase all of that, and the other people involved did not ask for it.

So an owner's request goes to a person, and we settle with you what should happen to the organisation — transfer it to another owner, close it down, or keep it running without you. Your own personal data is deleted either way.

How long it takes

Every request is reviewed by a person. We aim to complete within 30 days of receiving it and will contact you on your registered number or email. If a request needs more time — an organisation with staff usually does — we will tell you why.

Data we hold about other people

If you are a venue or academy owner, Kalam1 also stores information you entered about your customers and students, including minors where a parent enrolled them. That data belongs to your organisation, not to your personal account, and deleting your account does not delete it. If one of your customers or a parent asks you to delete their details, you can remove them in the app, or write to us and we will help.
